Lenovo Ideapad Miix 310 80SG001FUS 17.3 inch Laptop Review

Lenovo Ideapad Miix 310 80SG001FUS Benefits

The most striking feature of this new breed of machine is the detachable keyboard. The screen and the keyboard can split apart, so that the screen can be used in tablet mode. This allows for easier handling of the device in tablet mode and seamless transition to it as well. The device also features two fully integrated webcams for snapping pictures and video calling. A 2 Megapixel camera at the front of the device and a 5 Megapixel camera on the back.

The 10 inch screen is an IPS touchscreen that can run up to 1280×800 resolution. It fits well for the tablet mode as it is smaller than most other laptop tablet hybrids and is closer in size to actual tablets, making it easier to handle and move around with. It also supports a multi touch input so it should function like a tablet as well.

The Lenovo Miix 310 is also a very slim device. At just 0.36 mm wide, this could easily be one of the thinnest devices out on the market. It’s light too, weighing only 1.3 pounds. The Lenovo Miix 310 has a 33 Whr battery that can last up to 10 hours on a single charge. The device also features optional LTE connection allowing users to access internet via cellular data networks.

Lenovo Ideapad Miix 310 80SG001FUS Downsides

The Lenovo Miix 310 has its faults. The processor used in the device is an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 1.44GHz. Although it should handle things like internet surfing and video streaming, it’s not a very capable processor. Compared to the Intel Core i series processors for example, the Atom simply cannot keep up. If a user has a very high workload they wish to handle, then this might not be the device to use.

Along with the processor, the RAM is low too. Most modern devices have 4 GB or higher RAM but this Lenovo is stuck with just 2 GB. The onboard storage may also be a problem as it offers only 64 GB of space. Regardless how fast the bandwidth, this will be easily used up by many users as it simply isn’t enough.

Lenovo Ideapad Miix 310 80SG001FUS Verdict

The Lenovo Miix 310 is a confusing bit of kit. It seems great for on the go use with its slim and sleek profile and high battery time. It can also seamlessly transform into a tablet to be used when using a laptop just isn’t possible. But it lacks some of the necessary computational power that is expected from it. It could be a good option if portability is all that one needs.
