All of the main stream email providers have some form of blocking features. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Yandex and many more all that his capability.  What we are going to go through is the probably the 2 most used online email providers – Gmail and Outlook. Lets start with Gmail .

How to Block Emails On Google Gmail

Step 1. Go and log into your Gmail account.

Go to https://www.gmail.com from your device, it could be a PC, Mac or any mobile device. Next enter your email address and password to sign into your Gmail account.

From here go to your inbox, it can be found on the left hand side.

Step 2. Find the email that you want to block.

Now find the email you want to block, if you deleted it already then go to the trash can and it may still be in there. Alternatively, you can use the Search bar on the top of the inbox, and type the name associated with the email address into the Search bar. This will show you a list of results that you can use for the email address that you want to block.

Step 3. Click “Block { Sender Name }” option from the drop-down menu.

Once you have found the email, look in the top right hand corner of the email window and you will see three dots.  Click on the dots and a new menu will be shown . Look down the menu and find the  “Block { Sender Name}” option. You should see that the { Sender Name } is replaced with the name of the sender. Make sure you have selected the ‘Inbox’ before searching, as it will look at all of your emails from there. Otherwise it will only look into the folder you have selected. Next type the name associated with the email address into the Search bar. This will show you a list of results that you can use for the email address that you want to block.

Before Microsoft updated their UI, it was a click here then click there and click again process to block a email. But not now, they have made it so easy that you might have missed that it was there. I know i did for a while. Above the email details you have a row of buttons that allow you to write a New ( email ), Delete, Archive, Not Junk and then the next one is what we are looking for  – Block.
