10 best newly released convertible laptops reviewed

10 best newly released convertible laptops reviewed – For anybody who has bought or even looked at new laptops over the last few years they know the convertible laptop design is quickly gaining speed as more and more users see the advantages of having one device that can be used in multiple different ways that used to only be accomplished by owning more then one gadget. Today we are going to review some of the newest convertible laptops that have been released and rank the best 10 that are available now.

    1. Dell Inspiron 7000 i7368-10027GRY

This powerhouse laptop from Dell not only comes with the convenience of being able to convert quickly and easily from a laptop to tablet but has a host of other advantages such as compact size and plenty of horsepower to satisfy even the most demanding of users. The SSD drive that has been included may lack the large storage capacity of a basic SATA drive but more then makes up for it with the added performance and reliability. There is very good reason that this tops off our list for the best newly released convertible models since it is a very well rounded laptop model overall.

    2. Dell Inspiron 7000 i7569-3073GRY

Next on our list is the second entry from Dell which is very similar to the one above but with a few exceptions, most notably being the large screen size at 15.6 inches instead of the more compact 13.3 inch screen. It is hard to really favor one of these models over the other since it really comes down to personal preference and what exactly you plan on using the device for. Users that find themselves travelling often and still needing to get work done will find the smaller screen size of 13.3 inches a great benefit but for those who are stationary more often will enjoy the bigger screen making it easier to be productive.

    3. Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA-BBM1-CB-GR

The Zenbook Flip from Asus appears to be another great option for those looking for a device that can multi-task as both a laptop and tablet. One of the downfalls on this laptop that prevents it from reaching the top is the lower end processor compared to its direct competition. The Intel Core m3-6Y30 CPU is great for everyday use but may get bogged down if running more demanding applications that benefit from a more powerful processor. Asus has done a good job of adding plenty of memory and a faster SSD drive to help offset some of the processors limitations but at the end of the day this model lacks the power of the ones ranked above it.

    4. Lenovo Flex 80R40008US

Lenovo has a long history of providing some high quality laptops that really stand up well to the test of time and the Flex 80R40008US looks to be the next one to follow suit. This laptop comes in a little bit cheaper then some of the others while still being well powered by an Intel Core I5 processor and 8 GB of memory. Lenovo has decided to go with a regular SATA drive instead of an SSD which does give it a boost in storage capacity ( 1000 GB VS 256 GB ) but brings down the overall performance, plus an SSD with lacks any moving parts is better suited to stand up to the bumps and bangs an average laptop is bound to take. Overall Lenovo has done a good job of packing in some impressive details at a price that might be more attractive for some.

    5. HP Pavilion x360 13-U038CA

HP’s first entry on this list surprisingly comes way down at number 5 and is the Pavilion x360 13-U038CA. Like many of the other top options available HP has went with the smaller and slimmer 13.3 inch screen size making this a very portable friendly option. It seems HP couldn’t decide what the best direction was to go between SSD and SATA and instead offers a blend of both to try to squeeze out the most benefits. The large 500 GB SATA drive will give you plenty of storage space while the 8 GB of SSD will offer quicker read and write times for the most accessed files, This is especially noticeable on boot up of the computer. Out side of this the HP Pavilion x360 13-U038CA offers pretty standard features with nothing that will overly wow you but enough power and options to keep the average user well satisfied.

    6. HP Pavilion x360 11-U018CA

The second HP on our list is a great option for those bargain hunters who scoff at the idea of paying over $1000 for a new convertible laptop. The 11-U018CA is almost half the price of most of the models ranked above it so that alone is reason enough for it to make this list. Obviously some corners had to be cut to bring the price of this device to this level and one way HP done this was by going with a smaller 11 inch screen. The smaller screen size makes it ideal for those on the go allowing the device to weigh a very light 1.41kg but the limited screen real estate may not be for everyone. When it comes to specifications they have trimmed both the processor and memory to very basic levels meaning high end users may be disappointed with the overall performance. For those looking for a basic convertible option for a bargain price this model should be highly considered.

    7. Dell Inspiron 7000 i7778-0028GRY

Our third Dell entry on the list is far from a bargain when you consider total dollars, The Inspiron 7000 i7778-0028GRY is the most expensive on this list so far by quite a margin but does offer some unique features your not going to find anywhere else. While most convertible models are moving towards small and compact designs Dell has went the complete opposite direction with this model. First the large 17.3 inch screen is very rare in a device that can also be used as a tablet or in tent and stand modes but for some the large display is the only way they like it. Dell didn’t just go big on size but performance as well, The powerful Intel Core i7 processor along with 12 GB of memory gives this unsurpassed performance and a great fit for those power users who need nothing short of the best.

    8. HP Spectre x360 15-AP018CA

We continue down the road of expensive options with number 8 on our list which is the HP Spectre x360 15-AP018CA. The Spectre lineup of laptops has been considered one of the top end models for some time now which probably helps inflate the price a bit but it does still offer some decent features. It comes with a standard sized 15.6 inch screen which is a nice balance of portability plus screen real estate and its 360 degree hinge design allows you to work in 4 modes which are laptop, tablet, tent and stand. Most of the specifications are just average with a basic Intel i5 processor and 8 GB of ram but the edge it does have over the others on the list is a large SSD drive of 512 GB which gives you increased performance and reliability without giving up to much in storage capacity.

    9. HP 15-AQ018CA

HP may have lacked much representation at the top of this list but they are filling out most of the remaining 10 with the next one up the 15-AQ018CA model. This model seems to cover most areas quite well without really excelling in any particular category. Performance is decent powered by the Intel i5 processor and storage is very adequate at 1 TB but lacks the advantages of an SSD. Standard screen size of 15.6 inches and a total weight of 2.17 kg means it is not ultra portable but far from big and bulky either. This is a very nice addition by HP but lacks anything really eye popping to push it further up the list.

    10. Acer Aspire R5-571T-5773

Acer rounds out the top 10 list of convertible laptops with the R series R5-571T-5773 model. This model seems to suffer from the same issues as the HP above in that there is nothing overly negative about it but at the same time the features are very basic and pretty much what you would expect from a laptop in this category. It comes with all your standard features such as Bluetooth, Multiple USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and a 360 degree design giving you the 4 basic options for use which are laptop, tablet, tent, and stand modes. You won’t be left disappointed with this choice but at the same time you won’t be showing it off to impress your friends either.
